5 Simple Vastu Rules to Enhance Energy in Your Living Room
By Manjul Malhotra
The living room (Baithak) is where family members assemble and guests are received. Its energy dictates the overall mood of the entire household.
Here are 5 core Vastu guidelines to implement:
1. The Entrance (North/East)
The best direction for a living room entrance is the North, East, or North-East. This direction welcomes light and prosperity.
2. Seating Arrangements
The head of the family should ideally sit in the South-West corner, facing North or East, which gives them stability and authority.
3. Electronic Placement
Place TVs, air conditioners, and other heavy electronic equipment in the South-East corner of the room, as this is the Agnidev (fire) direction.
4. Furniture Clearance
Avoid heavy furniture that blocks the center of the room (the Brahmasthan). Keep it open and light.
5. Color Palette
Use light colors like off-white, beige, light yellow, or light green. Avoid dark, depressing tones like heavy black or grey on all walls.
